In order to create sustainable products, recycled natural fiber materials have been actively used in recent years.
What is "FERRE YARNS", a yarn made from 100% recycled materials.
"FERRE YARNS" is a recycled yarn made from recycled cotton and recycled polyester. It was developed in 1947 by Hilaturas Ferre, a Spanish spinning company with a history of more than 100 years. The yarn is made from 100% recycled raw materials and recycled textile waste, and is certified by the international recycling standard "GRS".
With such a long history, four characteristics help the environment.
1. Zero out the large amounts of water and environmental impact associated with cotton production.
In fact, growing cotton, the raw material for cotton thread, requires vast areas of land, large amounts of water and large amounts of fertilizers, which places a burden on the environment. But for recycled cotton yarn, we collect discarded clothes and cutting scraps from sewing factories, sort them by color, and then recombine them (using special machines to turn them into cotton again).
2. Zero use of harmful chemical dyes
Since the color from the cutting waste (i.e. raw material) is reused, there is no need for a re-dyeing procedure. This eliminates the use of harmful chemical dyes and the use of water required for the dyeing process.
3. Minimize factory carbon dioxide emissions
The spinning mill emits very little carbon dioxide during the spinning process because it does not require a dyeing process, thus saving a lot of energy.
4. 50% of the spinning mill’s electricity is powered by solar energy
About 50% of the electricity is provided by solar power, which greatly reduces the environmental cost of production.
Plastic bottles recycled every year are used as recycled polyester raw materials, and then mixed with recycled cotton to become "FERRE YARNS".
ECO HYBRID SERIES
Among Nanga's current products, those with "ECO HYBRID" at the beginning of the product name are made of 100% recycled yarn "FERRE YARNS" and can be used in various products from sweatshirts to T-shirts. The material is also smooth to the touch, soft yet tough and durable, and easy to dry and clean after washing.
