Houdini The Square / True Black

Staying dry just got easier, even in rough weather. The Square is a minimalistic waterproof unisex overskirt. It’s a one-size-fits-all wrap-around design made in a tough, stretchy and silent Loop Hardshell fabric.

How do you deal with a sudden onset of bad weather when you are out in the wild? Houdini wanted to create a garment that was super easy to get on and off, light enough to always bring in your pack, but still provided effective protection, like a pair of rain pants. The Square wrap-around design makes it very easy to get on and off and allows for a huge size span (one Square can be used by the whole family). The garment is made in a light, waterproof and breathable Loop Hardshell fabric. It’s very durable but at the same time silent, stretchy and has a smooth feel. A slit at the back provides excellent freedom of movement.

This is the perfect garment when you need protection from rain and wind but don’t want to wear rain pants. Wear it over shell pants on a ski touring trip, or over regular outdoor pants on a hike. Put it on over your jeans on a rainy autumn day waiting for the bus. This light overskirt weighs only 214g and is easy to bring along.

Care Instructions

When washing clothes made from synthetic fabrics, the use of a washing bag is extra important: It prevents microplastics from entering rivers and oceans.

• Ventilate clothes instead of washing to save water, energy and make the garments last longer.
• Use a washing bag to protect your garments and to prevent fibers from leaking. When cleaning the bag and the machine, make sure to wipe it clean and throw the lint in the trash can. Never rinse it in water since the fibers can end up in lakes and oceans.
• Machine wash max 40 °C/104 °F.
• Use mild environmentally certified detergents and make sure to use the right dosage.
• Avoid fabric softener. Besides being bad for our environment, they have a negative impact on garment performance, mainly moisture transport and breathability.
• Tumble dry low.
• Iron low temperature.
