What method of water storage should be used when hiking?

The owner used to use Nalgene water bottles (182g/liter), bicycle water bottles (about 80g/700ml), and CNOC Vesica water bottles (60g/liter), but recently, except in winter, he has increasingly preferred to use plastic water bottles because they are lightweight, portable, and very convenient in other seasons.

I've used several different sizes of plastic water bottles. These are common in American hiking circles, but it seems more and more Japanese people are starting to use them now. The owner has always wanted a unique personal style, so they wanted a water bottle that would make overseas hikers exclaim, "Japanese plastic water bottles are so cool!"

The Pocari Sweat 900ml water bottle (33g/900ml) is a Japanese-made plastic water bottle. It's lightweight, slim, durable, and has a moderate capacity, making it readily available in Japanese convenience stores and supermarkets. This is crucial because slim plastic water bottles manufactured overseas are not legally imported into Japan. Parallel imports of this type of water bottle command high prices on auction websites and are difficult to acquire. Another advantage of this bottle is its petal-shaped base, which allows it to stand relatively stably upright even on uneven or rugged terrain, compared to flat-bottomed plastic water bottles manufactured overseas. Furthermore, the 900ml capacity is just right. As the weather warms up, carrying one bottle in each of the two side pockets of a backpack is sufficient for a day's hike. When used with a hydration bladder or water filter, it's also ideal for mountaineering and long-distance hiking.

The design of the label sticker is based on Hiroshige Utagawa's ukiyo-e work, "The Fifty-Three Stations of the Tokaido: Yokkaichi and the Mie River".

Hiroshige Utagawa's ukiyo-e series, "The Fifty-Three Stations of the Tokaido," depicts Nihonbashi, Kyoto, and the fifty-three post stations along the route. It is said that this series was very popular at the time because it "made you feel as if you were there." Even today, looking at any one of these prints gives me the urge to embark on the journey.

Of all the works, "Yokakaichi and Mie River" is one of my favorites. In the painting, a traveler's raincoat flutters in the strong wind, while another hurriedly chases after his umbrella. The composition is comical, and the two travelers had just brushed past each other a few seconds ago, but now they go their separate ways without any animosity between them... It is a poetic work that evokes a slightly lonely reverie.
