MakeToHike DIA2 V3.1 Shelter

The DIA2 V3.1 is a lightweight yet durable single-wall tent that's quick and easy to set up and take down, even in inclement weather. The DIA2 has been updated to version V3.1, featuring new door and vent colors, improved floor-to-wall connection, simplified vent zippers, and improved Dyneema fabric technology.

Based on the above information, the changes in V3.1 include:

• Changed the door and vent fabric colors
• Improved application of Dyneema materials
• Simplified ventilation zippers (zippers open and close only from the outside)
• Changing the draw cord configuration
• Reinforcement of the connection between the bottom and the tent wall
• Added entry pull cord location

The entire tent is constructed primarily from ultra-lightweight Dyneema fabric, with the tent entrance constructed from Pertex Shield Air, a lightweight, breathable, and waterproof fabric. The poles are made from the stable and reliable DAC Featherlite NSL. A cross-ventilation window at the top effectively prevents condensation from forming inside the tent.

Tent pole structure and fixing

The X-Pole structure is the simplest and most robust form of tent pole installation. Since the poles are mounted externally, this design offers a significant advantage: setup and dismantling are quick and easy, especially in rain, snow, and inclement weather. Pole mounting methods include both sleeve and loop mounting. Sleeve mounting offers stability and ample internal space, but requires adjustment of tension at one end and can be inconvenient during insertion and removal. Clip-on mounting is easy to install, but takes up more internal space. Combining both methods offered significant advantages, resulting in the decision to adopt a hybrid mounting method. The NSL is DAC's lightweight pole series, offering an excellent balance between weight and strength.

The DIA2 V3.1 floor is also made of Dyneema material, and the tent walls can be used to hang clothes or accessory ropes.

Made of excellent materials

Made of Dyneema material and Pertex Shield Air, unlike traditional woven fabrics, Dyneema material is made of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene yarn laminated to a film. This gives it extremely high tensile strength, and even if it is accidentally punctured or torn, it will not be further torn by strong winds.

The DIA2 V3.1 features two front and rear entrances, making it easier for users to enter and exit while also effectively reducing condensation. Due to the properties of the Dyneema fabric, 20-30% of the interior space is transparent. Over time, small wrinkles will reduce this transparency, but it will never become completely opaque. While this is a characteristic of Dyneema, it may be a serious drawback for some people, so please be aware of this when purchasing. Starting with V3.1, the team has switched to using a slightly matte Dyneema material. While the difference isn't significant, it does result in a slight reduction in transparency.
